EXISTING BUNGEE OPERATOR TRAINING COURSES

Safety, must always be the number one concern of all operators. Realizing this, BCI offers in-depth training courses for exisiting jump sites that are looking for a change or improvement on their current operations program. BCI is at the forefront of the international safety standards development effort in bungee jumping and the training courses BCI offers meets or exceeds CBA, NABA, BERSA, SANZ and Australian specifications. BCI is one of the few companies approved by the NABA and CBA to certify competency of operators trained in accordance with their respective safety codes.

The training program that BCI offers to exisiting operators is turn-key and at their existing facility. In many cases the training could involve a significant revisit and change to the existing equipment and operations program of the jump site. BCI’s module training program is built with modules that apply specifically to BCI’s rigging system and also it’s cords and equipment. In cases where the existing jump site is not looking for a turn-key solution please visit our audit services page or the cords and equipment page to learn about alternative services that may be more applicable.

A comprehensive bungee training course for existing operators normally includes the following steps:

  • Audit of existing operation to determine site modification scope

  • Site modifications to be carried out based on scope

  • Ugrade of cords, equipment and operations and rescue manuals as identified from scope

  • Specific bungee training on a module program based on new cords, equipment and manuals.

  • Apprenticeship period.

BCI’s approach with this turn-key package is to provide existing operators with all the benifits and training materials that new jump sites receive all while preserving as much important existing infrastrcuture as possible without compromising safety.

Bungee Training Course Summary:

A crew of 3 to 4 Jump Master Trainers will travel to the operators jump site location where the intial module program will be taught over several days. Roughly midway through the module program, the operator’s chosen jump crew will begin a supervised hands-on dispatching of jumps under the supervison of our Jump Master Trainer.

Once the modules are completed, 2 of the 3 Jump Master Trainers will leave while 1 Jump Master Trainer will remain to supervise the remaining number of jumps required by the applicable bungee jumping safety standard of that jurisdiction. When there is no current standard in the jurisdiction in question, BCI uses the CBA standard. For the CBA training course there must be a BCI Jump Master Trainer onsite for 400 jumps.
